Springtime Magic is in the Air

Yes, it’s almost time for the Carolina Jasmine to bloom. Last year we had very few blossoms due to a late frost, which also took away most of our mulberries.

But spring is definitely in the air around here in the woods. Buds are showing on the trees–a few actually have tiny leaves beginning to peek out. I’m thinking seriously of going ahead and planting some of my herbs outside. I mean, it is the middle of March in the Southeast. It should be fine. Right?

But about writing…

I’ve been working on the editing for another book for Gambler’s Folly and another for Esperance. ( Go over to melliemiller.com for details.) Keeping two series and two pen names up to date can be challenging.

For those of waiting for another book from Sultonna Nadine, it will be Lady Calloway. This title may change as i’m not happy with it, now that the story is finished. But whatever I end up calling it, this book will be next!

In a world that isn’t quite Earth as we know it, in a city which just misses being Victorian London, Kerrick works for a division between the church and state. The church and state are one, with two different branches. One branch is dedicated solely to doctrine. The other polices the populace, ensuring everyone is upholding the teachings of the church.Kerrick is a liaison between them.

Kerrick is also human lie detector. It’s an ability affiliated to the work his father and many in has family have as confessors, but unique to him. He can always tell if someone is lying, which comes in handy during negotiations or trials.

On a trip for the church, he meets Liora, a young lady in a country village. After a decent courtship they marry. But their love life is nearly non-existent from the very start. He can’t figure out why.

Until the day he becomes angry and discovers he’s married to a heretic…

So watch for Lady Calloway.

Between now and then, if you’re looking for a romance with a bit of drama and magic. take a look at Master of the Fleet!
